Singapore ATM Stamps

Singapore Post 's experience with ATM vending machines began in 1988 with the installation of PLVM ( Postage Label Vending Machine ) equipment manufactured by the British firm Almex ( Metric Parking Group ). The machines resembled parking meters; in fact, they were an adaptation of a standard Almex

These machines were installed in post offices and various public places, totaling 49 units ( nos. 0001 to 0048 and 0050 ) in operation from 1989.

The Almex machines operated with coins and offered 16 basic programmed postage values . They did not give change in coins but rather in other ATMs worth 5 and/or 10 cents.
These stamps feature pre-printed colorful designs, but the actual postage value is printed on-demand by the machine at the time of purchase.

As mechanical Frama setups phased out, modern touchscreen SAM (Self-Service Automated Machines) took over, printing digital thermal ink onto beautifully detailed, full-bleed design backdrops.

Italy : Polizia di Stato

10 May 1986

Law enforcement in Italy is centralized on a national level, carried out by multiple national forces, helped by few limited local agencies. The Italian law enforcement system is considered complex, with multiple police forces and other agencies taking part in different duties. Policing in the Italian system refers to the duties of "full-powered officers" coming from the four national main forces: Polizia di Stato (State Police), Carabinieri, Polizia Penitenziaria and Guardia di Finanza (Financial Guard). While the duties of these four corps' include investigating and arresting, other local forces carry out limited duties.

The Polizia di Stato (State Police or P.S.) is one of the national police forces of Italy. Alongside the Carabinieri, it is the main police force for providing police duties, primarily to cities and large towns, and with its child agencies it is also responsible for highway patrol (autostrade), railways (ferrovie), airports (aeroporti), customs (together with the Guardia di Finanza) as well as certain waterways, and assisting the local police forces.

It was a military force until 1981 when the Italian State Law 121 was passed. This converted the State Police to a civil force, which is in contrast to the other main police forces of Italy: the Arma dei Carabinieri, which is a military police (gendarmerie) force[2][3] and the Guardia di Finanza, the Italian customs and border protection police that also falls in the military corps category.
