On
08 October 2026, Pos Malaysia released a reprint of the 10
sen and 20 sen Federal Territory Wild Orchids definitive stamps. First
introduced to collectors in 2018 as part of ornate miniature sheets, these
iconic botanical illustrations have transitioned into practical counter sheets
designed for daily postal services.
This 2026 reissue highlights a
fascinating intersection between operational necessity and anti-counterfeiting
progression. Unlike the original 2018 miniature versions, the 2026 reprints
showcase a refined, modernized blueprint.
Pos Malaysia adjusted the
physical footprint of the stamp, shrinking its dimensions to maximize
production efficiency on mass-printed sheets. More importantly, the update
relies on tactile and optical security features over traditional methods. By
doing away with conventional watermarks and microtext, the modern reprint
utilizes a raised, high-tactility "Pos Malaysia" silver text overlay.
This alteration serves as a robust shield against modern photocopying fraud
while giving the stamps a uniquely premium, textured finish under close
observation.
