Malaysia 2026 Reprint of 2018 State Definitive - Wilayah Persekutuan 10sen & 20sen

On 08 October 2026, Pos Malaysia released a  reprint of the 10 sen and 20 sen Federal Territory Wild Orchids definitive stamps. First introduced to collectors in 2018 as part of ornate miniature sheets, these iconic botanical illustrations have transitioned into practical counter sheets designed for daily postal services.

This 2026 reissue highlights a fascinating intersection between operational necessity and anti-counterfeiting progression. Unlike the original 2018 miniature versions, the 2026 reprints showcase a refined, modernized blueprint.

Pos Malaysia adjusted the physical footprint of the stamp, shrinking its dimensions to maximize production efficiency on mass-printed sheets. More importantly, the update relies on tactile and optical security features over traditional methods. By doing away with conventional watermarks and microtext, the modern reprint utilizes a raised, high-tactility "Pos Malaysia" silver text overlay. This alteration serves as a robust shield against modern photocopying fraud while giving the stamps a uniquely premium, textured finish under close observation.

• Release Date: 08 October 2026

• Denominations: 10 sen & 20 sen

• Sheet Layout & Format: 100 stamps/sheet (10×10 grid configuration)

• Physical Scale Change: reduced stamp size compared to the 2018 version

• Tactile Security Integration: raised, tactile "Pos Malaysia" in silver metallic ink

• Watermark: Completely omitted (unwatermarked paper stock)

• Microtext: Completely omitted (microptext from the 2018 version removed)

Malaysia 2026 Medicinal Mushrooms

Pleurotus citrinopileatus, commonly known as the Golden Oyster Mushroom or Yellow Oyster Mushroom, is characterised by its bright yellow to golden fruiting bodies, delicate aroma, and pleasant flavour. Native mainly to East Asia, it has been introduced into cultivation in many tropical and subtropical regions, including parts of the Malay Archipelago.

Auricularia nigricans is a tropical wood ear mushroom commonly found throughout the Malay Archipelago.

Like other members of the genus, it produces ear-shaped, gelatinous fruiting bodies that become leathery when dry and rapidly regain their texture after rainfall.

Historically, many tropical collections labelled as Auricularia polytricha have proven through DNA sequencing to be Auricularia nigricans, while the principal cultivated black fungus of northern China is now recognised as Auricularia heimuer.

Cendawan Ganoderma Merah - Ganoderma lucidum

For centuries, Chinese medicine referred to Lingzhi (灵芝) as a sacred medicinal mushroom. Traditionally it was identified as Ganoderma lucidum.

Modern taxonomic research has shown that this traditional concept was overly broad.

The European Ganoderma lucidum (senso stricto) is native mainly to Europe and parts of western Asia.

Most cultivated "Lingzhi" used today in China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia actually belongs to one or more Asian species, particularly:

1.       Ganoderma lingzhi (accepted by many mycologists as the authentic Chinese Lingzhi)

2.       Ganoderma sichuanense

3.       Ganoderma multipileum (common in tropical Southeast Asia)

4.       Related members of the Ganoderma lucidum species complex

Thus, mushrooms marketed in Malaysia as Ganoderma lucidum are often Ganoderma multipileum or another closely related tropical species, even though they are chemically and morphologically very similar.

Several other species of Ganoderma are widespread in the Malay Archipelago :

1.       Ganoderma australe

2.       Ganoderma applanatum

3.       Ganoderma philippii – root disease of Acacia & Eucalyptus

4.       Ganoderma boninense – basal stem rot of oil palm

5.       Ganoderma resinaceum

6.       Ganoderma  orbiforme

7.       Ganoderma  mastoporum
