Federated Malay States 1940 Malaya Patriotic Fund

Malayan Union government  on Sept 7, 1939, introduced a Malaya Patriotic Fund ( MPF ) to raise war funds in Malaya, Sarawak and British North Borneo.
 
MPF stamps was also introduced to further public participation. 
 
MPF Cinderella stamps were printed and sold at major post offices ( Singapore, KL, Penang, Melaka, Ipoh, Seremban and Kuala Lipis ) on Jan 3, 1940.

 
Second printing is a 1c stamps in red happened between January to April 1940.

 
Third printing of stamps ( May to August 1940 ) was of relatively smaller size compare to their predecessors.

 
At least 1.5 million labels were sold all over Malaya.  Despite the large number issued, not many of the labels have survived the ravage of time.
