A
piece of postal stationery is a stationery item, such as a stamped envelope,
letter sheet, postal card, lettercard, aerogram or wrapper, with an imprinted
stamp or inscription indicating that a specific rate of postage or related
service has been prepaid。
In
general, postal stationery is handled similarly to postage stamps; sold from
post offices either at the face value of the printed postage or, more likely,
with a surcharge to cover the additional cost of the stationery.
Prepaid Envelope
1965
FIRST Malaysian prepaid envelope was issued in 1965, with indicia printed in magenta over white envelope. The stamp was part of the nation's first State Definitive series ( Orchid ) issued on 15th November 1965, with slight modification to the stamp : enlarged graphic with omission of state emblem/head of state.
The indicia depicted Rhynchostylis retusa (also called foxtail orchid), an orchid, belonging to the Vanda alliance. The inflorescence is a pendant raceme, consisting of more than 100 pink-spotted white flowers. The plant has a short, stout, creeping stem carrying up to 12, curved, fleshy, deeply channeled, keeled, retuse apically leaves and blooms on an axillary pendant to 60 cm long, racemose, densely flowered, cylindrical inflorescence .

The second prepaid envelope, issued in 1971, also depicted a indicia printed in magenta over white envelope. The butterfly stamp was from 1971's State Definitive series depicting butterfly Precis orithya.
The butterfly Precis orithya, currently known as Junonia orithya, is a nymphalid butterfly with many subspecies occurring from Africa, through southern and south-eastern Asia, Cambodia and in Australia,

Again, in 1979, a third installment of prepaid envelope was issued. This time the indicia was printed with it's original design but with slight blurred colour
The 15c Hibiscus rosa-sinensis stamp was from 1979's National Definitive series. The Hibiscus is widely cultivated in tropical and sub tropical regions, including Malaysia. However, the native distribution of the plant is uncertain.
