Italy 2025 Bayer

Bayer’s presence in Italy dates back to 1899, when the German life-sciences company first established commercial activities in the country. Over time, Bayer became deeply rooted in the Italian industrial and scientific landscape, expanding from the distribution of chemical and pharmaceutical products into research, manufacturing, and innovation.

During the 20th century, Bayer strengthened its role in Italy’s healthcare system through the production and marketing of medicines, including well-known brands such as Aspirin, and later expanded into agricultural science, supporting Italian farmers with crop protection and seed technologies.

Italy gradually became not only a key market but also a strategic hub for research and production, with important facilities such as the pharmaceutical plant in Garbagnate Milanese and several agricultural research centers across the country. Bayer Italy has also collaborated closely with universities, hospitals, and scientific institutions.

Today, with more than 125 years of continuous presence, Bayer Italy operates across Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Health, and Crop Science, contributing to public health, sustainable agriculture, and scientific progress. Its long history reflects a strong commitment to innovation, responsibility, and partnership with Italian society.
